Diane DeGiovine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1984, who has been in her private practice setting for 25 years. She has provided psychotherapy to individuals and families ages 4 and up. Diane has a special interest in getting her clients to focus on their wellness of body, as well as mind, as they face life challenges. This interest gained energy after she experienced a three year period of chronic debilitating pain that has since resolved. Her own experience encouraged her to seek alternative treatments outside of the traditional medical model for resolution of her clients’ problems. Diane became interested in neurofeedback, as an addition to her practice, in May of 2008 when she attended a training with EEG Education and Research. Although Neurofeedback had been in use for over 30 years, she found the nonconventional modality to be an exciting development in the field of treatment of mental and physical health issues. The idea that clients may be able to reduce or eliminate their use of medications with NFB treatment was encouraging.

Diane has been involved in active practice and study of neurofeedback through New Mind Academy where she continues to engage in weekly peer training and discussion, with Dr. Richard Soutar, Robert Longo, and participants in the New Mind Network. This includes people from many different disciplines. She continues to be committed to advancing the field of Neurofeedback by using it in the context of Neurofeedback. Diane continues to be committed to advancing the field of Neurofeedback by using it, as a modality, in the context of a therapy session.

The goals of her interventions are to help clients improve and take charge of their lives. She encourages clients to learn more about their bodies on a path to wellness when they are ready and willing. Diane sees herself as progressive, as she is energized for resilience in a society where too many people are just getting by or worse yet, are very ill. She emphasizes the brain-body connections and readily encourages work with practitioners in other professions to move the client on their journey to feel better and thrive at any age.
